What does a lighting designer take into account?

The lighting designer takes into account the characteristics of all the interior and exterior spaces in your home. For lighting design, a floor plan, as well as any sketches and, in addition, any photographs, are useful and will help the designer to achieve a good result. The client’s wishes and preferences are always taken into account in the individual plan.

Lighting design for a detached house

Lighting design for a private house is our most common design task. Lighting in the home can take many forms, and a good lighting plan will take into account, for example, the different solutions for lighting the living room and kitchen-dining room. In addition, outdoor courtyard street lighting can be implemented as intended by incorporating outdoor lighting design into the overall design.

What is sufficient lighting efficiency?

Adequate lighting efficiency depends on for the intended use of the space. For example, the amount of light needed in the living room is less than in the kitchen because of the different uses. The amount of light needed on a kitchen worktop should be at least 500 lux. When choosing lighting, you should also take into account the height of the room and the colour of the materials: the higher and darker the room, the more powerful lights are needed to get the desired look.

TOO EXPENSIVE?

Lighting design is seen as a luxury by many people, which is why it is pushed into the electrical design without reason. Buying this luxury is not a matter of money at LedStore, because the starting price for help is affordable, only 0 €. We call this service a lighting consultation. We only charge for the most carefully drawn and urgent designs. All designs are professionally done with years of experience. For an affordable design, we encourage you to check out our reference photos/other sources and send us pictures of lighting you like when you place your lighting design order. This way we on the same page and you get the lighting solution you want in the design.

DESIGNING LIGHTING is also very worthwhile. Avoid costly mistakes and wasted time caused by unplanned mistakes. At LedStore, we also know the problems caused by structures (where to put the power supplies, whether to fit in the ceiling, structural drawings of the LED strip installation, etc.) and we think solutions to solve them.

For most designs, 3 versions will suffice. If more than 2 rounds of revisions are required (after the first design),an additional 59 € for the following plan revisions is charged (per revision).

The service can also be extended with a proposal for the placement of group drivers and LED strip lighting drivers at a charge of 59 €. This will help with electrical installations. We can also design the electrics or discuss the whole project with an interior designer, an electrical designer or a contractor for a fee of 62 €/h. If yard areas or yard buildings require a more detailed level of design than sketching, a yard plan can be added to the service for a price of €59.

Visits to the site, within 50 km of our office, are also possible, starting from 240 € / visit.
The plan will be billed according to the service provided.

We will draw up lighting plans based on the floor plans and other images you provide and send the lighting design in pdf format by e-mail. The delivery time for the whole house plan depends on the service chosen.

In addition to the floor plans, we use facade and sectional drawings, kitchen and utility room plans, and take your wishes on account. Files should be submitted in pdf, jpg or png format via the order form.

We design lighting and control solutions with LedStore products unless otherwise agreed. If you have interior lights coming from elsewhere or existing fixtures that will become part of the new lighting, please let us know and we will take it into account.

The finished lighting plan includes extensive product information, position-specific proposals of lights and applications with example images. We also measure the LED strip lighting and the desired aluminium profiles, as well as the desired drivers, i.e. the control type. All lighting fixtures on exterior walls and terraces are also included in the plan, as well as a courtyard lighting sketch made in conjunction with the plan.

Two rounds of revisions are included in the design process, 4 rounds in the interior based design are included in the price, after which you will receive a quotation for the lights and accessories according to the design.

There is no need to travel to design meetings, as all of the planning can be done remotely. Contact is made by e-mail and, if necessary, by phone, but if you have the opportunity to our store, for example to see the lights before starting the design, that’s good. Once you have a plan, you can also come and go through it with us.

After a successful lighting project, we will be happy to come and photograph your project with a professional photographer. You will also receive the photos for yourself, and we will publish them on our website for the benefit of our customers.
