What is the difference between a constant current and constant voltage LED transformer?

A constant current LED transformer controls the current flowing through the circuit, while a constant voltage transformer controls the voltage. These cannot be mixed. The voltage is DC e.g. 24VDCV and the current is given in Amps e.g. 700mA.
